Keri had accepted a new case but something about the background information she had just read didn't add up. One day last year a 8 year old boy went missing on a Friday afternoon, the local police and local townspeople all pitched in to find the missing boy. He couldn't be located anywhere, then Monday morning the missing boy was found at the entrance of a very old abandoned homestead. The boy was visibly shaken and weak, but when the doctor checked him out at the hospital he didn't have one scratch on him. But for some unknown reason the boy was now totally blind, the doctors couldn't understand how it happened nothing made any sense. 

The boy himself has not spoken since he was found, so whatever happened to that boy inside the abandoned homestead is still a great big mystery. Another weird phenomenon surrounding the boy is somehow he developed a new talent for painting, which previous to his going missing did not exist. In fact the boy had no interest at all in painting before going missing. Somehow even though he is totally blind he paints great pictures. The abandoned homestead has not been inhabited in decades, it literally has been abandoned, it still has intact fence around the whole property but its hard to see into the property because of all the weeds, long grass and trees that are overgrown. The house, barn and other structures still exist, but slowly are returning to nature. 

In local folklore this property has no rumors surrounding it, and nothing on record has occurred on this property till the missing boy was found by the entrance. In fact this property had been thoroughly searched when the boy went missing but nothing was found. Other than being a spooky looking place, this property is known for nothing. Keri has been involved in many strange cases, in fact that is what she primarily does, but this case has so many unknown factors that just don't add up. Since the boy, wont speak one word. Nobody can figure out what happened to him. 

What is known about this case is the boy definitely was here when he was missing. Nearly 30 volunteers and a dozen police officers searched this property for two hours the day after the boy went missing, but not one thing was found. After the boy was found Monday morning two dozen police officers searched this property all day looking for evidence. This time they located where the boy must have slept for three nights, they found empty juice boxes and candy wrappers, apparently what the boy survived on those three days. All this was found in a very old abandoned car, in another old car evidence showed that another person apparently had been living here for quite some time. 

Keri thought to herself, how odd they missed all this evidence on Saturday, but now it appears magically on Monday, very strange indeed. Keri had visited the boy earlier in the day, for an hour Keri had just watched the boy quietly, in fact he did not once respond in anyway to her presence, then Keri felt a very familiar presence beside her, it was Misty her silent partner. Misty would disappear and reappear at will, Keri never asked Misty about this behavior, but Keri knew Misty would be around if trouble was around the corner. 

The sudden appearance of Misty instantly invoked a response from the boy, he stopped painting, Keri looked at Misty and saw a very worried look on her face, then in that split second Keri heard the boy slowly say these words in a very old strange voice, the accent was clearly French..."THE BOY IS IN HERE WITH ME FOREVER...GET OUT NOW" instantly Keri looked back at Misty, but Misty was gone again, in that second Keri felt a strong arm on hers urging her to leave, when Keri turned and looked she saw Paul, another silent partner. 

Paul said go now Keri, as Keri was opening the door she heard the voice of young boy say..."GOODBYE KERI" then silence. On the way to the abandoned property Keri got her thoughts in order, next to her in the other seat wagging his tale always was Grover, her canine partner, and like Paul & Misty, Grover shows up when he pleases, but Keri dont mind his behavior either. As she approached the property in the distance she could see a man standing at the treeline. Keri parked her Jeep and checked her equipment. Keri has had some rough run ins on previous cases, so now she prepares herself much better. A gun on each ankle, and a gun on side holster, might sound a little paranoid but its better to have them just in case. 

Keri decided it would be best to start at the front gate and circle the whole property back to the gate where she would enter the property. As Keri slowly walked the property line she noticed it was so overgrown its hard to see into the property at all. Keri developed extra abilities after her life altering event, one of those abilities is sensing human or non human presences in close proximity, this is one of those occasions.

First presence was clearly human matching her stride just feet away inside the property on the ground. The other is non human, in fact several non human presences matching her pace, but not on the ground, in the trees. By Keri's side was Grover, he placed himself in stride between Keri and the treeline. 

Keri knew Grover was upset, the whole walk around the property he very lightly growled the whole way. At one corner of the property Keri saw Paul entering the treeline into the property, this made Keri smile, but in that second she heard a loud inhuman screeching throughout the property, they knew Paul had breeched thier property. Keri was not concerned Paul has proved on many occasions he can take care of himself, but Keri did pick up her pace. As she was crawling over the gate she heard that loud inhuman screeching sound again. 

She also realized Grover had disappeared again. But Keri knew he was somewhere around. Keri slowly and methodically searched this property, but Keri had a eye for seeing things other people would miss. The human presence, and the non human presences were getting more menacing now as she approached the western side of the property by the creek. Keri walked into a small clearing, its odd she thought to herself, every other part of this property has been overgrown, but this clearing maybe 30 feet wide and thirty feet long barely had grass growing in it, as Keri entered further into the clearing the loud inhuman screeching got frantic now. 

Keri knew the treeline was about twenty feet from the clearing, so a quick exit was close by. Then it hit Keri all sudden, she bent down and removed her small pick axe, slowly she dug down, as she was digging she noticed everything on the property went still, about a foot deep her pick axe hit stone. 

For the next two hours Keri methodically dug, as she was digging she felt many eyes on her, in the trees. Waiting for the right moment. Keri's suspicion was now confirmed, the clearing is a very ancient graveyard, from the markings she could make out, this was not a recent graveyard, the markings were in French. As Keri stood up she caught motion out of the corner of her eye, about 20 feet away, a very grotesque figure emerged from the trees, at first it spoke in French but quickly formed words into English and it said this....

"WHY DON'T YOU FEAR US??? WE GAVE THE BOY A GIFT...WOULD YOU LIKE A GIFT??? I CONTROL EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ONE IN THIS PROPERTY...I GAVE THE BOY A GIFT...AND HIS GIFT TO ME IS FREEDOM BEYOND THE BORDERS OF THIS PROPERTY...NOW THESE SOULS IN THE TREES WILL PREPARE YOU FOR THE GIFT I WILL GIVE YOU"

In that second Keri heard a sound of fury burst from the woods, it was the human presence, but Keri reacted with non human speed drawing her gun and unloading the whole clip into this possessed human, he fell dying a few feet from Keri...she quickly reloaded her gun, knowing full well what came next, 

the gun would not stop...in that second Grover appeared in front of her, the grotesque figure 20 feet away let out a loud screech and four spirits emerged from the woods, all menacing moving slowly towards Keri, instantly Keri felt Misty behind her, and then Misty moved in front of Keri, the four figures stopped in their tracks...slowly Misty started moving back against Keri...Keri understood...

Before Keri turned to start running for the treeline...she saw Paul emerge from woods and instantly engaged the grotesque leader...then Keri ran, with Grover at her side...when Keri emerged from the woods she saw Misty struggling with the four grotesque figures just inside the treeline, and in a flash she saw Misty was tossed into the field, the four grotesque figures stayed inside the property...when Keri looked over at Misty, she saw the big smile on Misty's face...then Misty winked at her...two seconds later...Keri heard a loud inhuman bellowing sound nd Keri saw the grotesque leader get thrown from the property, as he landed in the field, instantly he was engulfed in flames...gone from this place, the four grotesque figures inside the treeline, now reappeared in human form...all of them waved at Keri...a minute later Paul emerges from the treeline with his ever so big smile on his face.

Keri returned to the boy's house that day and found his sight had returned, and he was talking again...

The Homestead Is No Longer Cursed...

BUT SOMETHING STILL LURKS IN THAT PLACE...WAITING AND WATCHING...
